Day 1Arrival in Tokyo

We meet you inside the arrivals hall at Narita or Haneda and drive you straight to your hotel in a private vehicle — no train changes with luggage on your first day. Once you have checked in, your guide sits down with you for a short briefing: the plan for each day, what to wear for the weather, how the trains work, and where to find prayer space and halal food around the hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to rest and adjust.

  • Welcome dinner at a verified halal restaurant
  • Airport prayer room shown on arrival
Day 2Tokyo Highlights

A full day across the city: Senso-ji temple and the old shopping street of Asakusa in the morning, the view from Tokyo Skytree, then the newer Tokyo of Shibuya and Harajuku in the afternoon. Your guide paces the day around the crowds so you see Asakusa before it fills up. Lunch is halal ramen or Japanese curry, and there is time to shop for gifts before dinner.

  • Halal ramen lunch, halal wagyu dinner option
  • Zuhr and Asr at Asakusa Masjid or Tokyo Camii
  • More ideas in our Tokyo Muslim guide
Day 3Mt. Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi

We leave Tokyo early and drive into the Fuji Five Lakes. Depending on the season and the road, the day takes in the Fuji Fifth Station, the lakeside views at Kawaguchiko, the spring-fed ponds of Oshino Hakkai, and the Chureito pagoda viewpoint. Fuji hides behind cloud on some days, so your guide chooses the viewpoints with the best chance of a clear summit. Families with young children can shorten the driving and add the lakeside park instead.

  • Packed halal lunch — few options on the mountain
  • Prayer breaks at rest stops on the route
  • Optional onsen stay with private family bath
Day 4Tokyo to Kyoto by Bullet Train

Morning Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto — reserved seats together, luggage handled, and Fuji out of the window on the right-hand side if the sky is clear. We arrive in time for the afternoon: the torii tunnels of Fushimi Inari, then the wooden streets of Gion as the lanterns come on. Kyoto is where the pace of the trip slows down.

  • Muslim-friendly dinner in central Kyoto
  • Prayer space at Kyoto Station before departure
Day 5Kyoto's Temples & Bamboo

Kinkaku-ji, the golden pavilion, first thing in the morning, then the Arashiyama bamboo grove and the riverside on the west of the city. In the afternoon, Kiyomizu-dera and the sloping lanes of Higashiyama, with a stop at Nishiki market for grilled snacks and tea. A kimono fitting or a tea ceremony with a Muslim-friendly host can be added to this day.

  • Halal Japanese lunch near Arashiyama
  • Kyoto Masjid and temple prayer rooms mapped
  • More ideas in our Kyoto Muslim guide
Day 6Nara & on to Osaka

A morning in Nara: the great bronze Buddha at Todai-ji and the deer that bow for crackers in the park — the day children remember most. We continue to Osaka in the afternoon for Osaka Castle and the park around it, then Dotonbori after dark, where your guide points out which stalls are halal and which are not. Osaka is the loudest, friendliest city on the route.

  • Halal takoyaki and kebab stalls in Dotonbori
  • Maghrib at a masjid or hotel prayer room in Osaka
Day 7Osaka & Departure

The last morning is flexible: shopping in Shinsaibashi, a final halal breakfast, or a full extra day at Universal Studios Japan if you would rather add one. We help with check-out and luggage, then transfer you privately to Kansai or Itami airport with enough time before your flight. Groups often extend here to Hiroshima or Kobe — say so at the consultation and we will build it in.

  • Halal breakfast before check-out
  • Prayer room at Kansai International shown on arrival
  • More ideas in our Osaka Muslim guide

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do you need for the Golden Route?

Seven days is the comfortable minimum for Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka without rushing. Five or six days is possible if you drop one city or the Fuji day trip, and eight to ten days lets you add Hiroshima, Kobe or a slower pace for children and older travellers.

Is all the food on this tour halal?

Yes. Every restaurant on this route is personally verified halal or Muslim-friendly. Where a city has few certified kitchens we arrange seafood, vegetarian or self-catering options instead, and your guide will always tell you exactly what a place is and is not.

Will I have time to pray?

Every day is scheduled around the five prayers. Masjids, station prayer rooms and quiet spaces along the route are mapped before you arrive, and your guide carries prayer mats and a qibla direction in the vehicle. Jumu'ah is planned into the week when your dates include a Friday.

When is the best time to do the Golden Route?

Late March to early April for cherry blossom and November for autumn colour are the most beautiful, and the busiest. May and October are mild and quieter. Summer is hot and humid but good for Fuji; winter is clear, cold and the best season for a snow-capped Fuji and lower prices.

Can you customize this itinerary?

Yes — this page shows a typical route, not a fixed package. We change the order of cities, the number of nights, the hotel category, the pace and the experiences to suit your group. Tell us what matters most at the consultation and we build the plan around it.

Is the Golden Route good for families with children?

It is one of our most popular family routes. Private transport means shorter walks and no crowded train changes with strollers, and days like Nara Park and Universal Studios Japan are built for children. We also shorten sightseeing days and add rest time on request.

Do I need to pay to get an itinerary?

No. The consultation and the day-by-day plan we send you are free, with no obligation to book. You only pay once you are happy with the itinerary and confirm your dates.
